Meaning
Whatever you patiently work toward, the reward is always sweeter for the wait.
Story
A tortoise and a hare raced each other. Confident of an easy win, the hare sprinted ahead and stopped to nap. The tortoise, slow but steady, never stopped moving and reached the finish first. In the end, patience and steady effort beat raw speed.
Reader's Note
Steady, patient effort outlasts a burst of speed every time.
